This drum support roller kit includes one drum roller and two washers. Most dryers use two drum rollers; it is recommended to change both at once.
The drum support roller holds the drum in position while it spins on the support wheels. If rollers are worn out, the dryer will be noisy. The tools needed for this repair are a stubby Phillips screw driver, snap ring pliers, and 5/16 nut driver. Be sure to disconnect power from the appliance before beginning this repair. It is recommended to check surrounding parts before ordering, such as the roller shaft and front glide kit.
These parts are often purchased together. The tumbler and motor belt in your dryer allows the drum to spin during the drying cycle. At 100 inches in length, this dryer drum belt is 3/8 of an inch wide and has five ridges. The belt is black in color and it is made entirely of rubber. If your dryer will not tumble, is noisy during operation, or will not start you may need to replace the belt. To complete this repair, you will need to remove the front panel as well as the drum.

You will need a 5/16 nut driver and a stubby Phillips screwdriver to complete the repair. Be sure to disconnect power to the dryer before you begin this repair. The front glide is located at the front of the dryer, the drum rides along it. If you hear a metal-on-metal noise when your dryer is running, your front glide may be worn out and require replacing. This front glide kit comes with a blue plastic glide, a brown cork pad, and two metallic rivets.
Two kits are required per appliance. While you have the front bulkhead removed for this repair, you may want to inspect the felt that lines it. If the felt is damaged, it is recommended that you replace it at the same time.
You will need a rivet tool for this installation, as well as a stubby Phillips screwdriver, a 5/16 nut driver, and a drill with a 1/8-inch bit. This part is a retaining ring, sometimes called a retaining clip, that holds the drum support roller onto the shaft of a dryer. It is made entirely of metal and measures less than an inch in diameter. The retaining ring is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. The ring may vary in appearance due to manufacturer substitution, but the function is the same. You may need to replace this part if the dryer is noisy during tumbling, will not tumble, or takes too long to dry.

Be sure to check drum support roller kit and shaft before ordering parts. This is an M series new style coil kit, used in gas dryers. When the igniter reaches a high enough temperature, these coils work together to let the gas enter the dryer. The coils open the gas valve; if the valve does not open the heating element will not ignite. Both coils must be operational for the valve to open. This is a safety mechanism to ensure that there are no unsafe buildups of gas inside your appliance.
This kit comes with a three-terminal boost/hold coil, and a two-terminal main coil. Each part is approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
If the igniter glows but shuts off without igniting gas, it means one of the two valves is faulty. We recommend you replace these as a set. Before you begin this repair, unplug your appliance and shut off the gas supply. If you notice that your dryer is noisy or will not tumble, you may need to replace the tri ring. This part is triangular, and is less than an inch in size. Tri rings can be found both on the idler pulley shaft, or on the rear drum roller shaft.
In either case, you will need to remove the front panel of the dryer and the drum to access the part for repair. Once you have accessed the damaged tri ring, you will simply need to slip it off and replace it with the new one. This part is sold individually. Be sure to disconnect the power source from the dryer before you begin this repair. This door catch kit is designed for use in dryers. This is an authentic OEM replacement part. This catch assembly ensures the door of your appliance will close, and remain closed.
It allows your appliance to both start and complete a full drying cycle. There are two pieces included in this kit, one catch, and one strike. You open and close the door on such a regular basis that this mechanism can wear out. It is a fairly common part to replace. You will need to remove the door of your dryer to install the replacement catch assembly.
If your washer shakes or vibrates loudly when it reaches its max speed, check that the leveling legs are even. To ensure that the washer is firmly on the ground using all four legs, adjust the legs so that the machine is level, and tighten the locking nuts on the legs that are threaded. Keep the washer as close to the floor as possible. Your model might have rear legs that level themselves, or it might have threaded legs all around. Make sure the rubber feet have not worn out.
Replace any missing or damaged legs and feet. This replacement part is sold individually. A cycling thermostat is in tune with the temperature of your dryer and regulates it in order to maintain a certain temperature. This thermostat reaches a temperature of 155 degrees, turns off, and then turns on again once it has dropped by 25 degrees. If your dryer is not giving off enough heat, is over-heating, is not turning on, or is having issues with the timer functionality, it could indicate an issue with the thermostat.
The installation of the cycling thermostat is simple and the only tool required is a 1/4 inch nut driver (and gloves for safety).
Rated 1 out of 5 by mach229 from Does Not Clean Laundry Our washer is going on three years of continuous disappointment now. It takes an hour but hey - that's because it doesn't use a lot of water. It doesn't use a lot of water so it doesn't get laundry clean at all. We've used every supplement out there, clean the washer at least once a month, are back to using liquid everything because pods and powders do not rinse out, and our clothes are dirty and dingy and pod-stained.
I hate giving up on a Maytag but our rag clothes now outnumber the un-damaged stuff. Rated 1 out of 5 by rose314 from Dissatisfied I can't believe I've had this washer & dryer for over 4 years and I've hated them for that long. Sorry Maytag, I bought these based on your brand but this particular set is horrible. Why does it take over an hour to wash a load of laundry? And the drying time (Energy Preferred brings them out too damp) seems long unless I set the temp to high (that doesn't seem energy efficient). The situation that has now pushed me over the edge: the washer has now decided to go through 2 (!) cycles!
I now have to guestimate when the first load is done (about an hour), hang out by the washer, and open the washer before it goes into the second cycle. Yes - we tried to reset the control (Thank you YouTube videos) but that didn't work. Not a fan anymore.

What types of washer and dryer parts are available?
Maytag Commercial Technology Dryer
Many different types of parts and accessories are available to help a person complete a repair in a reasonable amount of time. Among the different types are main control boards, motors, belts, water pumps, doors, pulleys, heating equipment, filters, valves, time pumps, sensors, and lid switches. It is important to make sure the particular Maytag part is compatible with your washer or dryer. Do you need fuses made for a specific appliance? Ideally, fuses or other components that are used to operate Maytag products are the ones that they are specifically designed for. For instance, those who own a Crosley Magic Chef dryer should use the fuses that are made for that model.
Using only appropriate fuses and other electrical parts can significantly reduce the risk of sparks or short circuits. What does a washing machine drain pump do? A drain pump helps the washing machine circulate water during the wash cycle. It is responsible for keeping clothes from coming out of the washing machine too wet. It also prevents water from pooling or standing in the machine after a wash cycle has been completed.
This part is available for the Magic Chef as well as other washing machines produced by Maytag. What is the range of temperatures for drying clothes?
The temperature of your dryer should be at about 125 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit when it is set to a low or delicate cycle, and 135 degrees to 150 degrees when on other cycles. An internal thermostat is generally included in Maytag dryer models, and replacements may be purchased if necessary. Do dryer lint filters need to be changed? Lint filters for dryers may be among the most important Maytag appliance parts. These are the parts that keep lint, dust, and other debris from making its way to the blower motor or other critical parts. You should clean your lint filter after each use, and replace it when the nylon material starts to wear away.
